Share broker abducted

April 4: Mr Arindam Haldar (24),a resident of Survey Park in East Jadavpur and a share broker with Indiabulls, was allegedly abducted by five men today from his office in Saltlake. He was later rescued by police.
He was abducted from his office in CD Block around 12।00 noon by five men who came in a Maruti van. One among them, Dibendu Dey, was known to Mr Haldar and so had no difficulty in bringing him outside the office. The kidnappers allegedly demanded Rs 2.5 lakh from Mr Haldar. He contacted his friends from his cell phone. His friends informed police who rescued Mr Haldar from a grocery shop at Muchipara in Manicktala PS area around 9.00 pm.

The five men ~ Dibendu Dey, Ashim Saha, Sukhdev Mitra, Amitava Adak and driver Subhankar Mallick ~ have been arrested on charges of abduction.They revealed on interrogation that Haldar had borrowed Rs 6 lakh from a businessman a year ago but had returned only Rs 3.5 lakh. So, the abductors were demanding the remaining Rs 2.5 Lacs.
